On the third Wednesday of each month between 8-10 pm we present a two hour radio show on  Exeter’s community radio station Phonic FM.  The show is called “Nuggets From The Vinyl Era” and concentrates firmly on unearthing hidden gems from the mid sixties to the mid seventies.  Feel free to tune in.  You can even listen online!  Check out the profile link at www.phonic.fm/2009/04/06/dj-me/

We love to stock this wonderful retro magazine which is now published quarterly.  We also usually have several Shindig! back issues and annuals in stock.

Superb magazine which is imported from the U.S. and loaded with amazing in depth articles, interviews and reviews concentrating on the garage, psych and punk scenes.

Great zine imported by us from Greece featuring interviews and articles covering all things psych and prog.  Published about twice a year, it comes with a bonus CD which often includes rarities and specially recorded tracks from legendary artists.  Keep it up Michalis!

Probably the longest running mag about collecting.  We always get the latest issue in stock a few days earlier than the newsagents and also carry a healthy supply of back issues at half price!  You’ll also find a profile of our shop in the stockist pages.

Another great monthly read which we also stock early and half the price for back issues.  Again, you’ll find a profile of our shop in the stockist pages.

Terriffic and hefty read dealing with all things psych / prog / jazz / folk / blues and beyond!   More like a book than a magazine which probably explains why it's only published periodically!

Last Shop Standing: Whatever Happened to Record Shops?

Authored by Proper Records’ own Graham Jones, this book is a humorous and fascinating read giving a real insight into the highs and lows of running your own independent record shop and also considers the causes of its sad decline in recent years.  A few of our own wistful tales are mentioned on pages 112 and 113. This excellent book is available for purchase directly from Rooster Records.
